Sleep and Metabolism

A new study reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that sleep deprivation can lead to weight gain—obviously this is detrimental to even the best easy weight loss programs. Most people believe that this happens because the sleep deprivation makes a person more susceptible to the temptations of eating bad food, even if the person is using FDA approved medical weight loss pills or working with one of the many choices available in medical weight loss clinics.  While this may be true, this particular study showed a different mechanism for the weight gain— sleep deprivation can cause a person's metabolism to slow down. In fact, the sleep deprivation led to a reduction in a person's metabolism by as much as 20%. Good sleep is essential for weight loss and key to the success of weight loss programs. Try to get at least seven hours of sleep per night.  Not only is it important for weight loss, but it's also very important for your overall health.

We recently updated the selection of foods and weight reduction products available at our weight loss clinics and medical weight loss centers. Now, in addition to our nutrition bars, lollipops, shakes and pastas, we've just introduced delicious caramel and chocolate Drizzles.  These are brought to us by the same company that provides us with our Control Bars.  Just like the Control Bars, the Drizzles control hunger by stabilizing blood sugar up to nine hours and are a great way to supplement our easy weight loss programs, FDA approved medical weight loss pills and other aspects of our successful and quick weight loss programs.

Get support and info about medical weight loss programs and FDA approved weight loss pills at our Pasadena or Orange County medical weight loss clinics. Visit www.AmericanWeightLossCenter.com to find a location near you.
