5 amazing and fun weight loss gift ideas

Forget the gourmet popcorn and holiday chocolates this gift-giving season and help your loved ones reach their all American weight loss goals by opting for holiday gifts that promote health, fitness and wellness. Whether they are trying to lose weight or simply maintain it, there are several great weight loss gift ideas you can choose from.

1. Wii Fit. Nothing screams fun like Nintendo's Fitness Game, which you can enjoy alone or with your family and friends. This fitness game has completely revolutionized the fitness world by changing the way people exercise, allowing you to gauge your body's performance by measuring your center of balance and Body Mass Index (BMI), and enabling you to set yourself fitness goals by keeping track of your progress. This may not be an FDA approved weight loss program, but it is certainly an AWLC (American Weight Loss Center) approved holiday gift idea.
Besides, Wii parties are fun; you should have one!

2. Zumba Fitness Program. The Zumba fitness program fuses Latin beats with easy-to-follow moves that creates a rather dynamic fitness program that will have you experiencing a surge of endorphins... you know, that feel good chemical in your body you get after a good workout. This unique game is perfect for those who like to dance or would like to learn some Latin dance moves from Reggaeton, Salsa and Merengue to Hip-Hop, Cumbia and Flamenco.

3. Pedometer. This nifty little fitness gadget is an easy and inexpensive way to take more steps toward a healthy and active lifestyle. A pedometer is a tool that keeps track of how many steps you take when walking or running. Multi-functional pedometers can also keep track of the cumulative distance of your steps, your speed and even your heart rate. Get one for yourself too and challenge your friend to a duel to see who takes more steps in a day because we all know that a little motivation and encourage from a friend can help us stay on track with our fitness goals.

4. Massage Envy Gift Certificate. This is the perfect gift to give someone who has recently achieved their weight loss goals after investing in an Orange County weight loss program. It's a non-food reward for all their hard work and fitness training. Besides, massages are known to to purify the body of toxins which is essential for losing weight successfully.

5. iPod Shuffle. Routine work outs can sometimes be monotonous unless you give them more life with your favorite tunes. The iPod Shuffle makes an amazing gift for those who are easily bored during exercise. Plus, music makes the time go by faster because you're not really thinking about the exercise as much as you're thinking about just rocking out like a rock star. You can even customize your gift by creating a few different exercise playlists for your loved one to upload to their new exercise must-have.

Of course, these aren't the only things you can give to a health conscious loved one. You can also get them exercise equipment like new running shoes, a couple of dumbbells, resistance bands, a new yoga mat, a pilates DVD, or even a trial membership to any one of the many weight loss centers in ca.

Moderation = Celebration

The holidays are one of the best times of year for most—but when you’re on a diet or trying to lose weight, it can be one of the toughest, even when you’re following a FDA approved weight loss program like what we offer at American Weight Loss Centers.

A healthy life is about balance, and the holidays are for celebrating—but we understand that even a medical weight loss program can get off track. With a little forethought, you can still have a blast at all the parties and festivities you attend. We’re happy to offer some tips to help you survive this season and make it one of your best ever!

Slow Your Role
When you’re at a get-together, focus your attention on the entire experience, including the fun sights, other people at the event and quality time you get to spend with friends and loved ones. Don’t go to an event with an empty stomach—have some fiber-rich, healthy snacks beforehand so you won’t binge once you arrive.

It's a Party, Not a Pasture
Don’t graze at the buffet table—make it a point to study the holiday decorations or meet one new person in the room. Use the smallest plates available so that your portions are small—even the most uninhibited will not want to run back and forth to the food table all night.

Savor the Moment
Avoid splurging on the “pre-game” appetizers and hors d’oeurves. Focus on the veggie platters and keep the dip to a minimum. Save your splurge for your favorite holiday treat. Eat slowly, savor every bite and make sure to chew each bit carefully. This will give your stomach time to signal your brain that it’s full and not allow you to overeat.

Enjoy yourself!
It’s a time to be merry and thankful for our great lives (and that there are weight loss centers in California!) We’ll have more tips over the next few days, so check back!

There is an American Weight Loss Center in most areas of Southern California. We’ve got a Pasadena Weight Loss Center and an Orange County Medical Weight Loss Center in almost every part of the O.C. Visit www.AmericanWeightLossCenter.com to find one near you.
