Diet Sabotage—Don’t Let it Destroy Your Results

Losing weight can be a struggle for many. Although it sounds simple enough to consume fewer calories than you expend every day, there are many common diet mistakes that can sabotage the results of even the best easy weight loss programs. We often meet with clients at our weight loss clinics that have tried everything from medical diet pills and quick weight loss programs to weight loss products and memberships to quick weight loss centers. One of the integral aspects of successful dieting is to avoid some of the mistakes below.

Skipping meals
Many think that an effective weight loss plan includes skipping meals. In fact, when you skip a meal, you may get overly hungry at the next one and overeat.  The most successful dieters eat regular meals, with healthy snacks in between, especially when the time between meals if is longer than four hours. The point of FDA approved weight loss pills is not to help you starve yourself, but to modify your appetite in a healthy way.

Not Keeping a Food Diary
When you don’t write down everything you eat, you can easily forget the extra snacks, condiments, larger portions, etc.  Writing it all down keeps you on track and in reality. Effective easy weight loss programs and weight loss clinics are big advocates of keeping food journals.

Not Eating in a Balanced Way
Many easy weight loss programs focus on eating veggies—they’re great for you, but keep in mind the other food groups. At American Weight Loss Centers, we remind clients that protein satisfies hunger more than carbohydrates or fat. And healthy carbs are an important way to fuel your body—especially antioxidant-rich fruits and veggies that help to fill you up.

Trying to Do Too Much
Take one lifestyle change at a time. If you try to completely revamp your lifestyle all at once, it will be difficult and to succeed.  Make small changes that are manageable and easy to stick with. Working with
easy weight loss programs and weight loss clinics that offer FDA approved medical weight loss pills and other weight loss products is a great way to get support and assistance for reaching your weight loss goals.

Overestimating calories burned during exercise.
Studies have shown that exercisers overestimate the number of calories they burn by as much as 25%. Be realistic, and don’t think that if you walk around the block a few times you’ve burned off that cheeseburger.
